Looking for More Leads from Your Digital Marketing? Here Are 3 Tips to Help Improve Your Website Conversions

Are people landing on your website but not taking that next step?

It’s possible that your website is preventing people from accessing the information they need to convert, or they are having difficulty to easily and quickly find the information, whether through buying a product, subscribing, or getting in touch with you.

Regardless of what conversion means for you, if your conversation rate could use a boost, there are a few key factors to consider. Here are three tips to help you improve your website conversions.

1. Ensure Your Website Is Optimized for Mobile

If your web design isn’t responsive—meaning it can’t adjust its size and navigation for people viewing it on smaller screens—you’re missing out on the majority of today’s web users.

People are searching for information on their smartphones more now than ever before. Your website needs to be able to accommodate these mobile users by having a responsive design.

Responsive websites provide a consistent design and easy-to-use experience regardless of what size screen people are viewing from, including tablets or smartphones. They also are given added weight by Google’s ‘mobile first’ indexing, and this promises to only grow in importance going forward.

It’s also essential to make sure that your phone number is clickable if someone sees your site on a mobile phone, which we refer to as being ‘thumb friendly.’ This way, people can contact you simply by tapping the phone number on your website. Click – click – done, a better experience for mobile users on your website will generate more leads and conversions, and mobile is increasingly the medium thru which people search online, so don’t ingore this trend.

2. Make Your Call-To-Action (CTA) Visible on Every Page

Your call-to-action (CTA) should be on every page on your website, but more than that, it should be clearly visible and accessible. Have a clear call-to-action in your header that’s easy to see on every page and has a button where people can click or tap to contact you.

Examples of a CTA to have on every page can include:

  • Request a Quote
  • Schedule an Appointment
  • Book a Consultation
  • Subscribe to Our Newsletter
  • Call Us
  • Download Our Free Guide

Whatever you choose to be your CTA, make sure it’s consistent from page to page. Varying CTAs can make it confusing for your readers to know what to do, and they may leave the site before making a decision.

3. Drive Visitors to Use a Contact Form Rather Than an Email Address

If you can, have your website visitors get in touch, subscribe, or book an appointment by using a contact form rather than an email.

Why?

Contact forms have required fields for people to fill out that help you as get all the information you need to move forward with this person. Recommended fields to require include the name, email, and telephone number of the person submitting the form.

People also find filling out contact forms easier than sending an email. Instead of trying to decide what to write, they simply fill out the requested information and click a button to submit the form. By only providing an email address, you are hoping that the sender provides all of the information you need to contact them and respond to their request. And mobile users will likely not use, or be able to easily use, a generic email to contact you, so make it easy with contact forms.

You can still list a generic email on your website if you’d like, but always direct your audience to use the contact form, which you can include a link to on every page. Note that the odds are you’ll get a significant amount of spam emails when email addresses get ‘harvested’ off of web sites by bots or other players, which contact forms can filter out.
